I must admit that as someone who spends nearly 200 days a year in hotels, I walked in to this "DB" flat with a bit of apprehension.  But by the end of the exploratory visit, was hooked on the apartment.

I've never experienced a place that was so perfectly stocked for short (even long?) term living.  There was just the right amount of eveything one needed: wine and champagne glasses, kitchen knives, utensils, and dishes; a water pot and a French press for coffee; washer AND dryer; individual room air conditioners AND living room heater; ironing board with iron; a couch one can lie on; dish soap, laundry detergent and body soap; extra TP; TV with international channels, etc.

Most importantly, however, were the consistent, strong Wi-Fi connectivity, the spectacular view of the South China sea and its islands and the ease of transportation everywhere by either bus or ferry.

The main reason to have Leni's serviced flat was to experience the Discovery Bay way-of-life.  And her apartment delivered.  Whether walking the traffic-less streets of DB enroute to the plaza for its restaurants or bars, going for a swim on main beach, taking a jungle hike over to Mui Wo or simply catching a sooooothing ferry ride to Central Hong Kong, I was always looking forward to returning to flat 10D.

POSTSCRIPT: The experience was so devastating (LOL!) that after a month in this flat, I simply had to get one of my own here in Discovery Bay!

My wife and I stayed in Leni's beautiful Discovery Bay apartment for just over 1 month during winter (November-December).  What a delightful experience!

Everything Leni says in the description is true and the pictures also represent the apartment exactly.  There are also a few other nice features which weren't obvious until we got here.  To begin, Leni herself is warm, thoughtful, and competent.  The gal who does the cleaning is friendly, efficient, and absolutely trustworthy.

There are ventilation fans in both kitchen and bath, and windows on three sides of the apartment, so you can always get great airflow.  There are childproof latches on the windows which will limit the opening to a few inches, and are easily disengaged if you want to open the windows further.  The A/C unit in the dining/living room has a heating mode as well; handy if you happen to be here during winter.  The closets have plenty of hangers and hanging space.  The blackout blinds are quite effective--nice if you arrive from many time zones away.  Wifi reception is excellent everywhere.  The kitchen is comfortable and very well appointed.  We prefer to cook for ourselves when we travel, and we bring our own knives and sharpener.  Leni's apartment was the first place we've stayed where I found the included kitchen knives sharp and enjoyable to work with just as we found them!

As for the community itself, this was our first visit to Discovery Bay ("DB"), and it is a challenge to express just how calming and peaceful this place really is.  Locals say the acronym DB can also be translated as "Dogs and Babies".  There are a wide variety of both, and all that we came across of both species are extremely well-mannered and well-groomed.  There always seem to be many children running about or riding scooters, riding the buses or playing in the parks, on the beach, or in the commercial plazas.  They talk happily in English, Chinese, French, Portuguese, German, and probably other languages as well.  Many appear to be completely unsupervised, down to about 4 years old, although it could also be said they are supervised generally by the benevolent and watchful eyes of everyone in the community.  People smile as they pass you on the street, and a majority of the time bus drivers will smile and wave as they drive by.

DB also has a large grocery with a wide assortment of both organic and conventional products, both local and global in origin, as well as a specialty organic market, hardware and home stores, and at least a couple dozen restaurants.

But out of all the myriad features and benefits, our favorite is the view, from right inside the apartment. Extraordinary!  Both fog and haze levels were quite low for the majority of our stay (even during winter), and the beautiful view included the skyscrapers of Kowloon and Hong Kong Island, a good 13km or so distant.

We love it here!

Had a wonderful stay at this apartment.  The flat is clean & bright with wonderful views.  We stayed for 7 weeks and we didn't want to leave!  Did not get to meet Leni in person since she was overseas but even so, all queries were responded to immediately.  Highly recomment this apartment.   The bottle of bubbly in the fridge on arrival was a lovely gesture and most appreciated.

We rented this wonderful apartment for the month of July. It was spotless, very well equipped and the view was spectacular. Very easy to get around with public transportation.

Leni and Peter were a pleasure to do business with. I highly recommend this.

We had a fantastic experience in the apartment. After some bad experiences in small over priced apartments in central we finally found this one. The view is to-die-for, it's so nicely decorated...very homely. We couldn't believe how large it was by HK standards or that it even came with a dishwasher and a washer and dryer! Great location, clean, quiet and all amenities are provided. Leni was lovely to deal with, very professional. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend it.
